Eyelid Surgery Philadelphia
Eliminate Droopy Eyes, Look Refreshed, and Feel Rejuvenated
Aging can cause the eyelids to droop and sag. If you have under-eye bags or have an aged appearance as a result of puffy eyes, you may benefit from eyelid surgery also known as Blepharoplasty. At Jardin Medical Spa, we are pleased to offer blepharoplasty, an in office procedure because we understand the effects that drooping eyes can have on a person’s confidence and self-esteem. Unfortunately, eyelids tend to be immune to slimming techniques such as diet and exercise, and ultimately, eyelid surgery is often the best solution to rectify issues such as sagginess, droopy lids or excessive wrinkles.
If you are interested in undergoing eyelid surgery, our experienced team proudly serves Philadelphia and other locations in East and West Pennsylvania. We have a working knowledge of both traditional and non-surgical cosmetic procedures, and would be happy to help you meet your aesthetic goals. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Jardin Medical Spa today to schedule a consultation.
Blepharoplasty, Eyelid Surgery: Procedure and Results
To perform eyelid surgery, local or general anesthesia is administered so that small incisions can be made in the natural creases of the eyelids. The placement of the incisions is designed to minimize or eliminate visible scarring while providing access to excess skin and tissue in the upper and lower eyelids. Once the incisions have been made, the doctor can remove excess fat, skin, and, in some cases, muscle, to refine the shape of the eyelids and eliminate unwanted droopiness or sagging. After the trouble areas have been treated and offending tissue and skin removed, the eyelids are pulled back or lifted to the desired position and sutured closed.
Blepharoplasty Recovery and Complications
Upper eye lid surgery is generally performed at Jardin Medical Spa under local anesthesia. The patients are able to drive themselves to the medical spa and back home. Recovery is minimal with some bruising and swelling with no serious complications. Lower lid surgery may be performed under local anesthesia in the office or at a nearby surgery center.
Eyelid surgery is typically an outpatient procedure, and patients can expect some minor soreness in the days after their surgery. Two to seven days after eyelid surgery, the sutures will be removed. However, we advise our patients to get plenty of rest in the week after surgery and caution them to be patient with the recovery process. Though full recovery can take several months, the results of eyelid surgery become more apparent about three weeks after the procedure. Once fully healed, patients can expect to look younger and healthier, with eyes that are more refined and natural looking.
Ideal Candidates for Eyelid Surgery
Ideal candidates for eyelid surgery include healthy men and women 35 years of age or older. That being said, individuals from families with a history of saggy or droopy eyes may opt to undergo eyelid surgery at a younger age. Individuals who suffer from thyroid problems, hypothyroidism, Graves’ disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, dry eye, cardiovascular disease, circulatory disorders, or eye diseases such as glaucoma may not be suited for eyelid surgery. If you are considering blepharoplasty, we urge you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Mansoury to discuss your goals and determine whether such a procedure is right for you.
Blepharoplasty Eyelid Surgery Costs
Eye lid surgery usually starts at $2000 for upper or lower lid. Discounts are given for both upper and lower lid surgery combined. Occasionally, Dr. Mansoury is able to pass some upper lids through insurance.
